
Our business has been really growing over the past several years. Just like many smaller companies and pharmacies, we were on a paper-based quality management system, which is difficult to scale as you grow. We decided it was time for an EQMS, and ComplianceQuest was chosen before I joined Empower Pharmacy.
My task was to work with the implementation team and get everything up and running. We operate in a highly regulated industry and have many procedures, forms, reports, and control documents.
With our paper-based system, there were gaps and many people needed to be involved in the process. ComplianceQuest’s electronic approvals function for control documents has been very helpful, especially since we have two locations. If we have an approver at a different facility, we don't have to chase them down, we can just route it to them electronically. Deviations are easy to manage and investigate, and the CAPA module helps us see repeating trends and issues.
There was a huge difference when we moved to ComplianceQuest. Everything we need is now in one place. We know where to find things, and can communicate easily and assign people to tasks or documents, which makes managing everything much easier.
As a quality leader, I want to be able to say, “Okay, where are we? How many records do we have open? How many investigations are pending? Is there anything over 30 days? Is there anything delinquent that I need to address?” ComplianceQuest gives me that visibility and helps me manage my team better.
ComplianceQuest streamlines all of our quality processes. In a highly regulated industry, there are time frames you must adhere to based on FDA regulations. An electronic QMS allows us to manage compliance or adverse events reporting in the appropriate time frame. If we were still on a paper-based system, it would be very easy to miss something.
